It’s Time to Walk Through Open Doors: Reflections on 2021

I began 2021 with our annual Semi-Silent retreat reflecting on 2020 (Wowza) and dreaming with God about the year ahead.

I began 2021 with our annual Semi-Silent retreat reflecting on 2020 (Wowza) and dreaming with God about the year ahead.

After 2020, many of us have sensed the strong pull to invest our hours in the most strategic way possible, creating a sustainable life of intentionality, purpose, generosity, and impact.

More than anything, given all humanity had been through, I sensed a strong pull towards pouring my best efforts towards the message and ministry of Soul Care. While I have been engaged with this topic for over 20 years, this is the first time I've sensed a release by God to push my full vocational effort in this direction. I am grateful; exhilarated.

As I looked towards 2021, I sensed God saying...  "I have opened a door that no one can shut. It's time for you to walk through." Through the pandemic, it seems that a door of willingness to consider the deeper realities and establish a new way of living has been opened at scale. What a moment to be alive! Not surprisingly, this year has involved a ton of growth for me personally... My "Epic Journey" road trip in March, a four-day Individual Intensive at The Oaks, and an invitation from my current employer, Gloo, to move in this direction. By mid-June, our team had grown, I was fully engaged, and new opportunities to serve began to surface. Open doors.

So I'm curious...

How are you seeing the invitation to a deeper life from the soul manifesting in your relationships, work, and community?

A friend sent this to me earlier this week: I'd love for you to read it as well... and gently breathe afresh your own prayer of surrender and hope.

“For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him….But now, O Lord, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You are the potter, And all of us are the work of Your hand.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭64:4, 8‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

As God is molding and shaping us for this moment, how will you respond? I pray you'll walk confidently through the doors that are now open. There is a world of need as well as unlimited resources in the Kingdom of God....(Read: Isa 22:22, Rev 3:7-8, Isaiah 43:18-19)
