Welcome to our weekly Friday Check-in for March 7th, 2025 ✅

If you are new to Soul Care, WELCOME!! We are so glad you are here. We have a weekly rhythm of checking in together on Fridays. We use Soul Care's Page, Person, Plan framework to create a weekly rhythm and prepare ourselves for Sabbath rest.

We hope you’ve had a good week! On Wednesday, we began a six weeks journey that leads up to the celebration of Holy Week and Easter. The 40 days’ preparation provide us with a unique opportunity in our often busy lives: time to examine, fast, and pray. If you’d like to join our Lenten Journey for daily reflections, journal prompts, art, and music CLICK HERE.

We will continue to have our weekly check in here throughout the season as well.

Let's begin with,

Page: An Invitation to Reflection

Our Semi-Silent Retreat’s theme for this month is “EN | COURAGE” and we’ll be meditating on the passage below from Joshua chapter 1.

Today, read Joshua 1:5-9 (NIV):

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Spend a few minutes journaling in response to this passage:
  • What stands out to you most? Is there a particular word or phrase?
  • As you read through it a second time… ask God, “to what area of my life does that particular word or phrase connect?”
  • And as you read a third time, be asking God, “Is there an invitation for me?” Is there a response of some kind that God is inviting you into?
Next up is,
Person: An Invitation to Connection

Pause to think about your relationships... who has encouraged you to be strong and courageous? Who in your life encourages you? Who discourages you?

Pay attention to what comes to mind and what God may want you to notice. Then take a minute to talk to God about these relationships and the ways in which you might be more en-couraged relationally.

Finally we have,
Plan: An Invitation to Intention

Here are some reflection questions to help you go deeper:
  • In what areas of my life do I need to trust God’s presence more fully?
  • What words or encouragement might God have for me today?
  • How can I cultivate courage and faith in the face of fear or uncertainty... of stepping into new territory?
  • What daily practices help me stay rooted in God’s Word and promises?
Feel free to end this time of prayer and reflection in a way that is meaningful to you. You might close with this prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your constant presence and unfailing promises. Help me to trust You more deeply, especially in moments of fear and uncertainty. Fill my heart with courage and strengthen my faith each day. Guide me to stay rooted in Your Word, that I may walk in Your wisdom and peace.
Amen.

Thanks for checking in today.

Blessings!

Have a blessed Friday,

Team Soul Care
